The “Doom Loop” and Inspiring Stories from Our Clients
We’ve all heard about the doom loop in San Francisco and the Bay Area. It seems like everywhere you look, there are headlines about the “doomed Bay Area.” As a resident, I can’t deny that the city has gone through some changes — you can feel it in the air and see it on the streets. But what these articles often miss is the other side of the story: while some may have left, many of us have stayed, and there are newcomers who have embraced the city with open arms. It’s quite amusing to me when they talk about the city being doomed while I sit in a bustling park, with hundreds of people soaking up the sun, or when I’m on a crowded train heading to the busy building department, where so many are working on exciting new projects. At Creates Cool, we are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of these thrilling endeavors. Here are some of the projects we’re currently working on.
We’re helping create a new massage parlor in the Outer Richmond district. One of our clients, Butter and Crumble, is opening their very first storefront this fall, which is incredibly exciting. Recently, we assisted Tala Wine with launching a new store, also their first storefront and tasting room.
Another favorite of ours, a donut spot we adore, is moving to a new location with a fantastic new space to showcase their delicious donuts. Not to mention, one of our beloved restaurant owners we’ve partnered with is opening a new bar in the Haight.
Beyond the city limits, we have more fantastic projects in the works. There’s a new boxing gym, a flagship clothing store, and a meditation center just south of San Francisco that we’re delighted to be part of. To the east, we’re working on another bakery, slated to open soon, along with some other exciting retail spaces.
Each of our clients brings a unique and exhilarating story to the table, and they infuse the city with fresh energy and ideas. It’s disheartening to see doom and gloom headlines when there’s so much positivity and innovation happening all around us. Yes, companies might be moving out, and some bars may be closing, but there are just as many companies moving in and bars opening their doors.
Besides our commercial partnerships, we’re also immersed in a plethora of residential projects in the area. From helping new homeowners with remodels to designing and building new homes and ADUs, there’s a diverse array of projects keeping us inspired and motivated.
Sure, I’ll still read those local headlines about doom loops, but it’s crucial to remember that there’s an abundance of exciting new developments and a multitude of voices filled with excitement that may not make it into those catchy headlines.
