Chairity 2024
As we gear up for another exciting year of Chairity, I find myself reflecting on the journey we took last year and how much we learned along the way. The event has become more than just a creative challenge — it’s a way to merge art, sustainability, and community into something truly meaningful. This year, the team at Creates Cool is diving back in with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to explore fresh designs and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
For those of you following along, you can expect almost weekly updates as we share our design process, inspiration, and behind-the-scenes moments on our team page.
The essence of Chairity is simple yet powerful: we take items — objects often discarded or overlooked — and breathe new life into them through design. Each piece is then auctioned, with all proceeds supporting causes that matter deeply to us. It’s not just about the art, but about the impact that art can have.
One of the most rewarding parts of participating in Chairity is how it brings our team together. We love working on this event because it pushes our design creativity forward. Each year, we challenge ourselves to think differently, to experiment, and to work collaboratively in ways we might not usually get to in our day-to-day projects. It’s a chance to stretch the limits of what we can do as a design studio and grow together as a team.
But it’s not just about us — it’s also about the larger design community. Chairity brings together designers and studios across the industry, united by the shared goal of using our talents to make a difference. There’s something incredibly special about being part of an event that encourages collaboration and creativity while giving back in such a meaningful way.
This year, I’m particularly excited to announce that we’ll be raising funds for Project Color Corps, Gigi’s Garage, Muttville, and Hamilton Families — organizations whose missions we deeply believe in. Being able to contribute to these causes through our work is something that I and the whole Creates Cool team hold close to our hearts. For example at Creates Cool, we really believe in the power of design to make a difference, and that’s exactly what Project Color Corps does. As architects and designers, we see firsthand how design can transform spaces, especially in schools. What’s great about Project Color Corps is that they don’t just add color — they use it to create environments where students can feel inspired and connected. It’s exciting to support a project that shows just how powerful design and color can be, not only for the spaces we create but for the future of our industry too.
We couldn’t do this without the support and generosity of our community.
